FERRY GHAT
Located on the opposite sides of the Brahmaputra River (North and South Guwahati), it is the second way of communication other than the Saraighat Bridge. There are ferries and steamers available which takes people to the other part of the city and to the Umananda Temple. Cruises are also available in the ghat to take visitors around the River to enjoy the scenic view with good food and entertainment.

UMANANDA TEMPLE
Located in the peacock Island, in the middle of River Brahmaputra, it is one of the most divine and holy places to visit. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is known as smallest inhabited Riverine Island in the world. The only access to the temple is trough steamers or ferries which are available at the banks of the river for visitors. It was built by the Ahom King Gadadhar Singha (1681–1696).

NAVAGRAHA MANDIR
The temple is devoted to Navagraha – the nine (nava) major celestial bodies (Grahas) of Hindu astronomy being Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Chevvaai/Mangal (Mars), Budhan (Mercury), Guru/Brihaspati (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu (North Lunar Node) and Ketu (South Lunar Node). It is located on the top of Chirasal Hill, in Guwahati City. It was built in the late 18th Century.

GUWAHATI ZOO
Guwahati State Zoo cum Botanical Garden is located within the Hengrabari Reserve Forest in Guwahati. It is home to animals, birds and reptiles representing about 113 species of animals and birds from around the world like Chimpanzees, White Rhinos & Black Rhinos, Zebras, Ostriches and Giraffes from Africa;
Puma, Jaguar and Llama from South America and Kangaroos from Australia, Tigers, One horned Rhinos, Snakes and more. The State Zoo has also added a Museum and a Botanical Garden in the premises.

ASSAM STATE MUSEUM
It is located in the heart of Guwahati City. It is one of the biggest multipurpose museums in India. The exhibits are displayed under different categories- Epigraphy, Sculptures, Miscellaneous, Natural History, Crafts, Anthropology & Folk Art & Arms section. The collections found in the museum are very rare. The museum also has a lot of journals, periodicals and books relating to art, culture etc.

GUWAHATI PLANETARIUM
It is the only astronomical research centre in Assam and the entire North- East. The Planetarium uses the Japanese Goto GX instrument. Besides daily shows, the planetarium also organizes regular conferences, workshops and exhibitons. Apart from the regular Sky watching sessions organized by the experts at the planetarium, the special attraction of the planetarium are the special shows projected on a dome shaped overhead screen.

KAMAKHYA TEMPLE
The Kamakhya Temple also Kamrup-Kamakhya is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother Goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. Situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India, it is the main temple in a complex of individual temples dedicated to the ten Mahavidyas: Kali, Tara, Sodashi, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Kamalatmika.
Among these, Tripurasundari, Matangi and Kamala reside inside the main temple whereas the other seven reside in individual temples. It is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus and especially for Tantric worshipers. A scholarly study of the Kamakhya Temple was authored by Kali Prasad Goswami, Adari Surendra.
